Graymoor is a well-known exclusive community located in the Rail Commuter Village of Olympia Fields, IL. Just 28 miles south of Chicago’s Loop the community was developed and designed in the early 1950’s as a progressive community in a park complete with two ponds and a wandering creek.

 

Today Graymoor stands as a unique enclave of mid-century modern architecture and planning with many of the homes appearing in various architectural books illustrating their design and historic significance. In the summer of 2023 four homes in Graymoor were part of the Modernism Road Rally tour of mid-century homes organized by the National Trust of Historic Places in conjunction with the Edith Farnsworth House. The community is a rare example of harmonious fusion between the native landscape and progressive mid-century modern design.

 

The Graymoor Landowners Association upholds each property’s appearance in the interest of preserving and enhancing property values, and its greatest asset is found in the amazing owners that reside in the community who work together to keep the overall community looking cohesive, desirable, and a pleasure to come home to.
